Description

Beautiful Luxury holiday house in Tortoli for 5 people

Family luxury holiday house in Tortoli is surrounded by a large Mediterranean garden with terraces and BBQ. Located on the outskirts of the town of Tortoli and two km from the beaches of Lido di Orri, this rural house is built in typical Sardinian style. Privacy and tranquility are assured. Tortoli is the perfect base for exploring a fairly large part of Sardinia as it is approximately two hours from Cagliari airport in the southeast, Olbia and Alghero in the northeast in the northwest.

The ideal destination for lovers of sea and nature. The Ogliastra Regional Park, the nature reserves of Osini, Ulassai, Urzulei, Seui, Montarbu, Perdasdefogu, Villagrande and Tiscali, the Gorropu Canyon, the untouched nature of the Supramonte with its ancient forests and Gennargentu’s mountain range are just a few examples of the natural beauties of Ogliastra and surroundings. http://www.youtube.com/embed/i7Q2CV9GYMc?rel=0

The most beautiful beaches, from north to south, Gulf of Orosei:

40 miles of pristine coastline, mostly devoid of asphalt, where nature has created impressive cliffs and idyllic coves set among the rocks, accessible only by boat or trekking, sometimes difficult. https://youtube.com/watch?v=V39e4rJ8gJ8

Two miles from the golden granite sand beach, east facing. The beach has a steep slope and the sea is now deep. Also interesting is the richness of birds and more vegetation, because at the mouth of the river Cedrino. Equipped with all services and, at the same time, as wide as even empty spaces for those who love to rest.

Sardinia Beauty :

The Italian island of Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean after Sicily and extends over an area of 24,090 km2. The distance from north to south is no less than 270 km and the distance from east to west is around 150 km. Compared to the other Mediterranean islands, Sardinia is closer to Tunisia (180 km) than to the Italian mainland, which is 190 km away. Just above Sardinia, only 16 km away and separated by the street of Bonifacio (Bocche di Bonifacio), lies the French neighboring island of Corsica.

The landscape in Sardinia is very varied, the beautiful coastal areas with countless white sandy bays and the clear blue sea are in stark contrast to the rugged interior. Flat coasts gradually merge into rolling hills to higher, dense inland mountains. The highest mountains, Punta la Marmora with 1834 meters and the Bruncu Spina with 1829 meters, belong to the Gennargentu mountain range that runs straight through the interior from north to south and changes into the Gerrei mountains towards the south and into the Monte di Alba in the North. The southwest is characterized by the Iglesiente Mountains and the Capoterra Mountains.

The island has a very varied coastline of no less than 1800 kilometers consisting of small bays, shell, sand and pebble beaches, where the rugged rocky northeast coast merges into the south coast with many kilometers of sandy beaches.

The rivers Coghinas, Mannu and Flumendosa run across the island but are often without water due to high temperatures and little rainfall. The Tirso River feeds the largest man-made lake that serves as a water supply for the island. Large salt lakes can be found in Cagliari and Cabras and are populated by many pink flamingos that can be found here all year round. The salt lake at Macchiareddu, unlike the salt lakes of Cagliari and Cabras, is still in use for the extraction of salt.

About Sardinia :

Since the beginning of the 18th century, Italian has been the official language of the island, but of course the island also has its own language; ‘Sardinian’ also called ‘Sardinian’. This native language of the Sardens is still spoken today by a large part of the population and also traditionally used in music and singing. Especially in the somewhat more remote mountain villages, Sardinian is spoken rather than Italian, in contrast to the larger cities where the Sardinian language comes second after Italian. In some schools Sardinian is one of the first foreign languages and Sardinian language lessons are given in addition to English, French or German.

Prehistoric tribes have lived in Sardinia and left impressive monuments such as the ‘Domus de Janas’ (from the neolithic era) and the thousands of ‘Nuraghi’ scattered here, built from loose stones and used as towers or fortresses. Later the Phoenicians and the Carthaginians (500 BC) came, followed by the Romans, the Vandals, the Byzantines and in the 11th century the Saracens. Because of all these different influences, the island contains a melting pot of peoples and cultures, brought together on an area of less than 25,000 km².

At the beginning of the eighth century BC the Phoenicians founded a number of towns in Sardinia; Tharros, Bithia, Sulcis, Nora and Karalis (Cagliari). The Phoenicians originally came from the area that is now called Lebanon and they traded in the Mediterranean.

A great apartment

The well furnished house was very quiet but still central. You can walk into town. There are numerous restaurants there. There are supermarkets very close by. The house has a large garden, well suited for families with children. Conclusion: we would book this property again at any time! Quiet location on the outskirts, beautiful garden with grill and shower. Ideal for a beach holiday. The place is a pure tourist village. Anyone who wants to do something absolutely needs a car.

Family holiday home

We stayed in this house for two weeks and really enjoyed it. The house was very clean and the interior attractive. The garden is very large with many fruit trees and other plants, such as zucchini and tomato plants. Our son enjoyed seeing everything in this garden. The location of the house offers a lot of privacy, yet it is close to the center of Tortoli. The only thing missing was the cot, which the ad says would be present. We think the house is highly recommended

Here you will find everything to feel happy

The cottage is beautiful and it radiates heat and only two km. from the beautiful Lido di Orri with its breathtaking beaches. Tortoli is a lively town with many beautiful beaches around it !! In any case, we enjoyed it! the owner is very nice and comes a few times a week to bring both fruits and vegetables! a must for young and old..
