Canyon City Texas Rental with 2 bedroom
Beautiful pet friendly holiday home Canyon TX for 5 people
This “aerial lift” of a pet friendly holiday home Canyon TX takes its name from the Sky Ride concession that operated at Palo Duro Canyon State Park in the 1960’s. The original ride’s abutment is sitting next to this cabin reminiscent of the good-old-by-gone-days when station wagons . Family holidays were the norm, and state parks were a favorite place to take them.
A series of chairlift seats moved excited park visitors from the canyon floor hundreds of feet above to the top of a mesa that can be seen below from this cabin. Now, excited ChairLift cabin guests unwind and enjoy magical moments at dawn and dusk when the golden light plays over the soaring cliffs and rock spires of Palo Duro.
Description of our home :
Living room of your holiday homeOne of the best features of the fantastic view from this cabin is the interplay of blue sky, brick-red rock and lime-green vegetation. ChairLift is the perfect Palo Duro Escape for the nostalgic and adventuress traveler.
The builder has taken great care to design this new cabin in the Mary Colter architectural style. Mary Colter (1869 – 1958) may well be the best-known architect in the United States. Her buildings at the Grand Canyon National Park – that include Indian Watchtower, Hopi House, Bright Angel Lodge and many others are admired by almost five million visitors a year.
She helped create the “National Park Rustic” style. ChairLift was created not just to lodge, but to entertain, engage the eye, and occupy the mind in a stage set rooted in Palo Duro Canyon. Like the canyon itself, ChairLift will take your breath away!
ChairLift is a two-bedroom, two- full bath, in a very functional and cozy 1,000 sq. ft. design. The cabin features a wood burning fireplace, covered patio and built in outdoor BBQ grill. The fully equipped kitchen offers everything you need to make you feel at home. Clean linens and towels are provided for your comfort along with extra blankets for cozy nights.
Only 16-miles from the city of Canyon, home to West Texas A & M University and just 30-miles south from Amarillo and historic Route 66. There is plenty of shopping, restaurants, museum’s and all local amenities to enjoy in the “city.”
